What is Interfaith Hospitality Network
The mission of the Des Moines Area Interfaith Hospitality Network is to provide compassionate care to homeless families and to assist families in securing a stable home. IHN serves through a caring, dignified environment of overnight hospitality in several churches and provides an array of supportive services to help families become self-sufficient.
Serving Through Walnut Hills
There are many ways to help support DMIHN.
- Care providers are needed to help during Walnut Hills' host weeks, usually 4 weeks throughout the year. Needs include meal preparers, hosts (including overnight hosts), van drivers, setup and teardown, laundering linens at the end of the week, and other needs. Contact Kim Roby - kroby(at)waukee.k12.ia.us if you wish to participate.
- Make GoodSearch your internet search site and choose Des Moines IHN. This act will contribute a penny per search to who you choose.
