Music Ministry
(Updated February
14, 2008)
Music at Walnut Hills is for
everyone! We encourage all of
God’s people to participate in the music program—the Bible says to “make a
joyful noise unto the Lord!” We
never require that your joyful noise be perfect or even beautiful.
Music serves as a personal connection for worship and prayer for all
people. We know that some find
listening to the music to be the most prayerful and meaningful way to
participate, and we thank you for your listening ministry!
For those who like to participate, there are vocal, instrumental, and
teaching opportunities available for all ages and skill levels.
We also strive to include all musical styles in our program, and we’re
not opposed to giving anything a try!

The Musician’s Prayer
Lord,
please bless my music.
May it touch the heart of one’s soul;
May using it to glorify You always be my goal.
Let it be a constant reminder of the power of Your Love;
And remind us that You’re always watching from above.
May others see the beauty in every note they hear
And when they hear my music, may they feel Your presence near.
Lord, I ask for Your guidance in all that I do,
And pray that You’ll make my music an instrument for You.

Sunday
Morning Music
Songspiration Kids:
Sundays,
9:50-10:05
in the Music Room. This
group is for all children ages 3 years to 2nd grade.
Sunday School teachers will bring the kids to the music room
for fun and exciting new ways to learn about God through music and
movement. We will use
fun new instruments, our voices, and our bodies to express God’s
love for all of us! The
Songspiration Kids will present their musical offerings during
worship several times during the regular school year and the
Christmas season.
Music on the Move:
Sundays,
10:10-10:25
in the Music Room. This
group is for all children in grades 3-6.
Sunday School teachers will bring the kids to the music room
for some unique musical experiences involving instruments, our
voices, and movement. We
will learn about new styles and old styles of music, how music is
used to serve God, and how we can show the world, through music,
that God loves each of us. This
group will present their musical offerings during worship several
times during the regular school year and the Christmas season.

Evening Music
Wednesday
Night Alive:
Wednesdays,
6:00-7:30
, beginning in the
Celebration
Center. This group is for all
children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Each week, we will provide several activities that center
around a theme; the activities will include things like arts,
crafts, music, drama, games, and movement.
Each week the kids will learn about the world around them,
new and old traditions, churches and religions from all over the
world, and about how God wants us to treat others and our world.
Children will be able to learn about God’s whole world, and
how they fit into that huge picture of creation.
By nurturing self-expression through all of the arts, we will
help to foster a sense of self for each child and give them a new
and exciting outlook on the life God has planned for each of them.
