How you can serve Walnut Hills, the Community and the World
“A place to call home where we are welcomed and sent forth to serve." Walnut Hills was created in 1989 to be a community of faith intent upon serving others. In fact, at Walnut Hills you will be encouraged to serve others and to do justice. Both are necessary but they are not identical. Service asks us to help meet the needs of others. Justice asks us to confront those situations, policies and powers that cause those same people to be in need.
Opportunities to Serve
There are many ways to serve others in this world. Here are a few that Walnut Hills focuses on.
- Church Volunteering
- CFUM - Children and Family Urban Ministries Meal Program
- DMARC - Des Moines Area Religious Council
- IHN - Interfaith Hospitality Network
- Partner Churches
- Other Short and Long Term Opportunites
