Property Update
Have you seen our new purple windows?
All of the wooden windows on the north side of the original
building (where the nursery and the library are located) have been
replaced with new commercial aluminum windows!
The wood had deteriorated on these
windows and the property committee determined it was critical to
have them
replaced as soon as possible.
Other exterior
improvements were also made to reduce our long term maintenance
needs.
The property and finance committees have
worked together for the past year to hire an architect, issue bid
documents and to ultimately select and hire the contractor.
Due to one window falling out last fall, it was decided that this
$44,000 project should be funded immediately by increasing our existing
debt.
There are many people who
have worked on making this project a reality.
Augie Landis got the ball rolling, Layne Rasmussen kept this
project a priority, Scott Bennett established the necessary line of
credit, Mark Thiesen’s persistence
as Architect and quality czar made sure that the project was built
correctly and, literally, no corners were cut.
The contractor for this
project is Bergstrom Construction and the office staff has told me that
they are the nicest contractors
they have ever worked with.
There are more projects
on our slate, and hopefully, with your help, we will be able to make these
repairs and ensure the long term integrity of our facilities.
Please contact me if you
have any questions.
