Why Walnut Hills - Communication Team (updated December 7, 2005)

Dear Walnut Hills,

“Walnut Hills-A Place to Call Home Where we are Welcomed and Sent Forth to Serve.”

            For the past few years a communication team has been in place at Walnut Hills with the purpose of communicating the “what” and “who” of Walnut Hills to those who are seeking a place to worship.  As we examined how to best tell our story, we kept coming back to our mission statement, stated above, which quickly expresses what Walnut Hills is and what we value.  As a result, you will see our mission statement in ads, in the bulletin, on our website and where ever we share our story with others.  

            As we continued our examination of how to best tell our story, we realized that additional information, beyond our mission statement, was needed to more clearly and fully tell our story.  As a result, we asked our senior minister, Doug Peters , to create a piece that summarized what he believes the ministry of Walnut Hills to be.  Through a joint effort of the communication team, the staff and Doug, we edited a multi page piece that we want to share with you as active participants in the life of Walnut Hills.  W also created a one page piece that can be taken out into the community and shared in our newcomer visitor packets.

           This is your invitation to read the enclosed material and see how accurately you believe it reflects the ministry of Walnut Hills.  We are very interested in your feedback and welcome your comments.  To share your thoughts we invite you to call or email any of us at the phone numbers or email addresses listed below, or to call Doug at 270-9226.

             And finally, the communication team would like to thank Doug and Connie McKeen for their leadership, guidance and input as we continue to extend our invitation and welcome to those seeking a place to worship.
